BULLIES: The Spearhead Of Cyber Crime

Hi Gang!
Today we posted a little later in the day due to the overwhelming amount of copy we are processing due to the weekend accumulation of submitted copy and, our desire to give you ever little of it. I realize that thsi has resulted in a very long stretch of copy and, that you as a whole may not like to scan thought the whole thin. Know  that we are working in a viable alternative to this and, will have something place within the week.
On a much more serious topic we have two really important topics for today.
First is the subject of bullies and cyber crime. Bullies are at the lowest place in the criminal food chain but, they are on top of the national attention list due to the media’s coverage of suicide prompted by cyber bullying in recent months. So, as we have found what appears the ideal case involving a bully that crossed the financial crimes line. It is amazing how focused on money our legal system is over emotional damages. The key element(other than the topical buzz of cyber bullying) was that this particular guy demanded HEL cards from his handpicked elderly female victims to stop his attacks and general harassment (never mind the severe emotional stress) through insulting emails for extended periods of time. The demand for items with monetary value crossed the line from “game” (if you can really justify cursing someone via inbox/post as part of a game) into extortion.
Yes  folk, this one goofed and now the FBI is actually looking into that particular situation. This is where you come in. If any one out there has received any threats that involve a request for goods of any kind to make them stop, we need to know. At this time we are with holding the name of the player under investigation  so as to not have him go into hiding  though, we have already rcvd a semi anonymous email complaining about how skewed we were being against the alleged extortionist (see full comment and link to response in  the Members Forum section)
The most surprising part of the message is that  the sender refers to information he would most likely know only if the sender was privy to conversations held between these members since, the victim in this case was a member of said group. Because this is only an educated guess, we are not as of yet taking a position pro or con on anything regarding the group rather, we believe they are absolutely not anywhere as relevant to our community as is  the criminal factor. And, we are not taking this to Zynga since we also believe they are limited in their ability to respond to these issues.
It is really up to FB to better and more fairly police it’s own domain. So, we wil be asking them for better policies on reporting and, responding to the hordes of con artists, hackers and all other criminal activities feeding of FB memberrs (in particular the ones in our own little MW corner of the FBverse).
However, for this to work we need you to stand up and be counted. We can take care of bullies in MW with absolutely NO problem. The staff and friends of TDP count their extended numbers in the thousands and, already a few hundred have come forward to offer siting on this particular guy (or any other such abusive player) for weeks on end.  And, though it would be extremely satisfying on a personal level to squeeze a bully out of the ability to play the game, it would solve very little. Furthermore we have already instructed this victim on how to become almost totally impervious to the bully’s attacks. He will no longer be able to mess with her account within the game so, the only think he will have left will be the inbox insults and threats. This is of course exactly what we want since, the Special Agent in Charge needs to gather as much proof of the prosecutable offenses as possible.

Remember to take screen shots or save the blackmail, insulting or threatening emails you may have received and, include a link to them in your posting to us or/ at the above page. Those falling within the parameters of “criminal” will be contacted with the information to reach the FBI’s  Special Agent. Your anonymity will be respected the Daily Post will NOT under any circumstance print your name or contact info unless you specifically request it. Depending on your response, we will escalate this with a number of planned actions involving FB advertisers and the national media. Please bear in mind that I started this publication as a bit of a personal hobby but, I am a bona fide member of  the national and international media  in a position of leadership in several media organizations. So, by default, this little publication has access to my prersonal l and professional rolodex counting some 7,000 editors, publishers and reporters around the world and, as impressive a number of contact info for all sorts of politicians. Now, to the other very important announcement. As you may have noticed, I am a true believer in our community. And, I have been ever so fortunate to find a great deal of wonderful people in it. One such person is our new Business Manager Robert Slade Russell. Robert is in the same bind many of us are in these rough economic times but, in his case ther is a not so common burden as well. His mom has been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus and, though not usually survivable, the diagnosis was early enough that the treatment prescribed may see her out of the woods yet. Ufortunately this is very expensive. Now Robert ould not really bring himself to ask for help and, hew does not even want money necessarily. What he really
needs is a BP Monitor ($90.00) and a finger pulse oximeter ($75.00) in short they need $165.00 for the both but, they would will be great full just to get the 2 medical monitors she needs if they could be donated.
I asked him why not just ask for donations without putting a cap on it (just the formula for feeding tube is $170 a month) and, this is what he responded
“We are not nor do we want to seam greedy, my mom and myself are simple people we believe that we only need the bare necessities and to be honest, begging for anything is not in our nature but when times are this tough sometimes you have to ask for help, but like i said i don’t want to come off as being greedy so with that said I’ll leave it in your hands.”
Robert is a long time MW player who was around  before The Post or,  even Jeniffer (the MWLOOTLADY) began writing her blog. He is honiorable, humble and a great friend. So, when I found out of his need, I took it upon myself to ask our community for help in his name. You know, that is a really skewed post about Susan’s situation, and rather interesting how you – whoever you are – turned it around to talk about the June drama, which is rather old news. Furthermore, I’m not sure what Susan’s situation ultimately has to do with the PAC — I think that was what Fiona was trying to point out in a roundabout way. It kind of just sounds to me like you’re turning around the whole story to make yourself look like June’s victim at the expense of Susan’s situation? Sorry, just calling it like it looks. Move on.

Food for thought.
You can blow stamina in Brazil fighting, but you still only get VC’s from wins. Blow 1000 stam and might get 100 VC’s. Blow 1000 Stam in any other country, an get 600-800 VC’s.

I was looking over the numbers, I’m sure I don’t 600-800 per thousand, but Brazil VC’s sure are at a percentage disadvantage.

Brazil–500 stam–485 wins, 21 VC
BangKok–500 stam 483 wins, 85 VC

Yeah, I knew it was different. My VC’s seemed to stay the same.
The loot is better in Brazil, but if you use VC’s to improve your character, you’re gonna be hurting. I’m figuring we’ll have to divide our efforts, as it were. When in need of loot, and consumables, hit Brazil. If you need more VC’s, hit anything else. Food for thought.

False Identities will drop while doing fights, jobs and robs. Accept them from your mafia members through the free gifting system and new feeds. You can get 10 per day from Jobbing, 10 from Robbing, 10 from Fighting, 40 from gifting, 5 from you asking for False ID’s and 10 from clicking on friends posts.If you’re really lucky, you’ll find Golden Identities which are worth 5 False Identities.Redeem False Identities for cool Hunter Spy themed loot items. The Spy Hunter Event will last for 8 days and the redemption period will be last for an additional 4 days.

Some people are asking about the new “and improved?” mini energy packs so here are some answers. Some people seem to like having more flexibilitly to use energy packs throughout the day while others feel like they are getting ripped off. Not sure if they will stick with this concept but for now it looks like they are converting everyone to them.What are Energy Mini Packs?
Energy Mini Packs are a substitute refill to the regular Full Energy Refill. Multiple mini-energy packs can be used per day in comparison to the regular one-time daily energy refill. At the moment Mini Packs are only being made available to a small number of players. 
How many Mini Energy Packs Can be used per day?
A maximum of 6 mini-energy packs can be used daily.
How come I don’t have Mini Energy Packs?
The effectiveness of Mini Energy Packs is being determined by the Mafia Wars Team. Once the effectiveness is determined Mini Energy Packs my be made available to everyone or they may be removed from Mafia Wars.
How do I get Mini Energy Packs?
Requests to have Mini Energy Packs cannot be fulfilled. Players with Mini Energy Packs were selected entirely are random. Unfortunately Zynga Customer Support cannot activate Mini Energy Packs to any account.

Hello everyone…it is with much regret and sadness that I write this. I have decided that I am resigning my position as Alliance Officer and leaving Night Watchers. I want to make it clear to everyone that this is not because of anything that anyone has said or done. I love this clan and will do anything I can to protect it. Even if that means me leaving. I have made my opinions and ideas very clear to anyone that asked. I say whats on my mind, hold no regrets, and make no apologies. I have also developed a style of play that just does not fit with Night Watchers anymore. Unfortunately, this has caused friction. For that, I am truly sorry. It seems to me that the best way to solve the problem is to leave. My main concern has always been the group. I have made many friends here and hope to keep them that way. I do want to say thank you to you all for all you have done. I have learned a lot of things in my time here. I only regret that who I am and how I think has caused me to make this descision. I will always be here to help anyone who needs it. I hold the only highest respect for everyone here. You have a great group of officers and admins that really do care about you. I only see good things in the future for Night Watchers.

Some times change needs to happen. Today our alliance officer Mark Berkowitz has decided to step down. We are sadden by this news, but agree with his decision to do so.
