Hi Gang!
As was gearing up to fit in my usual intro, the message below came into my box. Since the topics is so relevant to all of us, I decided to make it and  my response the intro instead. I have purposely removed the player’s names so as to not cause the senders and undo embarrassment or discomfort.
“Well, she started working with “Nate” who runs the PAC, David Reedy (sp?) who was that guy who almost got a successful boycott going (now on the PAC), and even Jennifer Patterson was in her corner. David coached her on how to submit the long chain of emails to Z/FB, then Nate took all that, was going to go to both the Z people who take care of bullies, as well as turn it over to a friend of his at FB who would look at the bully’s account. The guy actually committed real life extortion! Besides demanding HEL in the game to buy him off of attacking, he demanded game cards!
So, what happened? Nothing. Not one bit. Nate failed. Zynga failed. Facebook failed. Those two corporations are now actually guilty of being complicit in the commission of a crime by knowingly let the guy get away with it then doing nothing. The guy still continues to bully. Oh, forgot one thing, Facebook did do something, they gave her a red screen warning that she was being abusive. WTG FB! That’s really jumping on the right person – blame the victim!
So, she refuses to give me anymore information at all. She’s given up. She even destroyed her tip group  as a result. She didn’t talk to a single one of the rest of her admins – she just blew it up! Either that, or FB did. We can’t get  to talk now.
That’s the news, Bill. That’s the truth. She resigned from PAC once Fiona, who is a mod on the Z forum as well as on the PAC blasted away at her. Fiona doesn’t care about bullying, or that an actual legal crime. No, she blames her to even bringing it up to anyone else in the PAC.
I’m pretty fed up myself. I’m trying to help her, then and old nut case from months ago, violates a 3 way agreement, then sets her clan to sit on me. It’s me against an entire clan. Real fair. So, if Z/FB won’t do anything against a guy who commits an actual crime, then how can I have any hope of getting help in being bullied out of the game by an entire clan, which violates both Z & FB ToS?
Fact is, Bill, neither Z or FB respect their own ToS. I would wish the press could be interested in such a story, but really, if  she  won’t talk, there’s nothing to go on more than what I’ve told you, what if any Jennifer Patterson will/can tell you, and I seriously doubt “Nate” gives a sh-t since all his “help” came to absolute zero. Casts a serious doubt on the PAC itself if you ask me.

My dear friend, there are several fronts that we are dealing with in this reference. First there is the issue of you not getting the post in your inbox every day. We send it out every single day to in-boxes of all our group members but, many don’t get it regularly any way.
This particular issue seems to be a combination of Zynga/FB dev foul ups and/or the pernicious hijacking of ATT byChina net  (see http://www.technewsworld.com/rsstory/71258.html?wlc=1301639625 and  http://www.zdnet.com/blog/facebook/us-facebook-data-passed-through-chinese-south-korean-isps/970 please note the dates of these reports. It seems this continues to happen) which had been (I think they still are) re-routing fb data though China and, exposing our data to scrutiny by the same folk who created the “Game Gold Farms”(dozens of Chinese players accumulating loot and rp’s to be later sold back to players through certain unscrupulous loot dealers).
This is something I am personally bringing up to the recently established Congressional Caucus on Internet Gamingheaded by Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. (http://pixelatedgeek.com/2011/02/new-congressional-caucus-formed-to-represent-the-gaming-community/). We shall see how far I can get through with that route.

Then, there is the issue of her Bully and , bullies at large. Both the national media  and the federal Gov have made a big stink about verbally abusive  internet bullies that thrive in the social networks. (http://www.eschoolnews.com/2011/03/15/obama-pledges-crackdown-on-cyber bullying/). This is a long road that is still being worked on. I have personally contacted the FBI on behalf of players who received phone threats against their life by player that had even claimed to be friends with Zynga devs. At the time of my call, the FBI agent in charge told me they could do nothing since, this just a game. A few weeks later the girl mentioned in the above link killed herself as a result of web bullying and, that led to even the President of the United States to get involved.
Facebook  and Zynga creators Zuckerman and Pincus met with Obama the week prior to the creation of the PAC and the meeting we were invited  to in San Francisco (yes, I was invited ). Still , not visible results other than the inclusion of a  question you get when reporting someone for abuse through certain link that asks if you have received a “credible ”  death threat (what a joke).
I really think “Blue Eyed Nate is well intentioned but, very, very  limited in his power to actuate real policy change within Zynga. And, Jennifer could not be a more dedicated and sincerely player oriented advocate of our community. However, she has even less power to act directly on these things.
It has always been my long term plan to deal directly with Pincus and/ or his corporate management staff. There is where the real power lies. I have two bargaining chips in my pocket for that. One, mainstream media. I am directly involved in national media associations and, in the process of helping to create the Foreign Press Club of Florida in  friendly coordination with the local Director of the “Americas Hub” a branch of the U.S. State Department. The practical implication is that I have access to thousands of reporters nationally and worldwide. At the right time, i will be able to send all of them stories,and/or story suggestions on items that as an ethical journalist, bear true significance to them and their audiences without pushing any personal agenda. I truly believe this sort of bullying  and, data hijacking fall right in the middle of a true concern that i will be able to raise with out breaching my own code of ethics or, abusing the trust placed on me to be as unbiased as any human journalist can reasonably be.
And the other is a set of concepts that could make them big a player in a market they have not tackled yet but, that I think they are` very aware of. I am sorry but, at this point that is all the detail I can share on this.
Finally, there is the PAC. As I mentioned above, i was invited (I actually wrote to Cerulean Maste ,the Super moderator organizing it  for Blue eyed Nate (Zynga)) telling him how much I would like to support the effort as i then understood it. Mind you, I had been talking about creating a similar forum for months prior to the creation of the PAC (as far back as when Karen Massey was my Managing Editor for the Post). Cerulean was extremely gracious to me and, passed my request on to his boss though the period for applying had just expired or, was just about to. They responded with an invitation to join the original 30 or so selected players  and an invitation to attend  that included airfare and hotel room. I was very, very hopeful when I saw that.
Unfortunately, I am a very, very busy guy and simply could not leave at that time. So, I sent my them Managing Editor instead and, I gave her an agenda to present  which included a proposal for a later meeting with someone in their corporate structure. Unfortunately, my choice of envoy would prove to be a mistake.
When the folk from the PAC returned, John Sweeney Jr of The Informant podcast created a button that was circulated via walls for those who would support the PAC. Of course , I immediately placed a button on my image as, I continued to feel a desire to support the effort.
Still, my training is that I must remit myself to the old adage that warns the proof is in the pudding so, I commented to that Managing editor that I was concerned on what I had heard from a couple of other PAC members regarding their misgivings on the new very forgiving attitude the PAC members had with Zynga’s commonly perceived naughty ways.
During this very conversation, this M.E. in whose hands I planned to leave the Post as I left to further develop versions of  it in Yahoo, Google and other social sites, came to me with with mews of indignant PAC members asking why I would wear said badge as I had not attended and thus, could not be a member of it (a kind of elitist attitude I truly despise as a member of a community). Forget the fact that I saw it posted on the main wall with a message asking to wear it as a sign of support (the standard message the app send out when the button is created) or, that the only reason the M. E. was a member of the PAC was because I  had given her the chance. Rather than standing up with the loyalty I though she had for the Post, she decided to throw a thinly veiled editorial on my own publication where she disclosed my private comments to her regarding the attitude I now feared these players were taking on Zynga’s favor.
I allowed her editorial to go out and included my rebuttal taking full credit of such comments and, repudiating any desire to continue to support the PAC blindly. I said and meant, that it was the PAC that would have to prove it’s worth as a truly representative body for our community. Their continued public silence on all the issues since has been very, very disappointing to me.
I had very much hoped that this body would encourage the devs to continue to include and heed the least of players / newbies that make the bulk of our community. Instead, I felt that the general attitude was one of, “Oh boy we are so special and, we are friends with the devs now”. I am specifically NOT including Jennifer in that generalization as I know she is as straight a shooter as they come. I also appreciated the team Spock and , MWAP folk or attending (I just loved to see photos of those guys proudly sporting their MWAP  T-shirts in the midst of Zynga HQ ) and, I gained a new respect for J.Sweeny Jr. for conducting his podcast directly from the lobby of the hotel (boy did I like that!!!) .
I had real hope for integration so as long as these mavericks had their hands in that pot. Alas, the group itself kind of melted into the shadows and, the only thing I saw left were those buttoned pics a few of them still wear.
My time limitations and, diversity of projects cause me to take very long to handle this end of my life. I only continue with the Post because of the amazing people who have been so loyal and encouraging through it’s existence. I count myself among the very blessed by having the honor of knowing so many wonderful people. The same people that would protect me in the wee hours of the morning when a very MW naive Bill would have to leave his character to be attacked mercilessly by gangs of hugely over sized bullies who deeply resented the Post’s attempts to expose them, as I tried to finish the issue. It was then when people like Harry Jaime, Dana Buffis, Stigmata, MWL, Carla Bruss and oh so many others, showed me the true meaning behind what have become my deepest truth, HONOR & RESPECT.
It is their honor that I continue ahead. Always trying to repay their great kindness to me  by embracing our beloved community. I am the least of our “family” members but, you all also make me the greatest. I wish that warmest of feelings for all of our community members.
I am very sad she has stepped back but, I could never hold it against her as I have seen so many a  great  player fall by the wayside, in their frustration with the glitches and severely flawed attitudes of way too many abusive players . But, the battle is not lost. In fact , we are just getting started and, believe it or not, I still hold a candle for Zynga. Between all the weirdness and apparently conflicting attitudes, I still have to admit they have gotten so much better than when I first got here that, I still have hope.
That is why we are running their job postings as they reach out to ur community to fill their ranks. Because , if enough of us seep into their structure, they may someday  be us.
I will use this thread as my intro/editorial tonight and, truly hope you will forgive me if I do not wait for your approval as it is now 4am and I am thick in the middle of finishing Friday’s  edition of the Post. And, have no idea if you are even still up. Or if , as you put it in your message, my own reply has not sent you  into a “long text” induced coma (LOL).
I also ask that you not give up just yet. We are in the process of gathering forces to make a stand against bullies in ways that are meaningful and, not dependent on Zynga or FB. I assure you this is just the beginning of the fight.
In the meantime, I leave you with those two words that are so deeply meaningful to me, to you and to all of our readers and neighbors, Honor & Respect,

This was really cool for players who had multiple items because they got credit for having all the items and not just the one with the highest level of mastery. I told you not to get too attached to your new loot scores as Zynga would probably fix this error. Today many players noticed their overall equipment attack and defense scores were decreased.

I was fighting off the fightlist in Italy and had used just under 1,000 stamina.
