CENSORSHIP IN FACEBOOK
NAAAH...,REALLY?
Could it be that the social network credited with being integral to the liberation movenent in Egypt and Libya would censor the voice of an American journalist reporting on a social game within the giant that is FB? That does not make a heck of sense but, by all accounts that is excactly what has happened to John Sweeney.
Most of you are familiar with the wealth of information John puts out on a daily basis with his Facebook /Zynga blog and, the ever so popular Informant Podcast (co -hosted by our very own Jennifer Patterson a.k.a. THE MW LOOT LADY). It appears some people reported the url as "offensive or spamy" and FB just banned the url without even a notice to the affected party. We have had the same issue at one time or another but, we were always able to eventually post again. That is what we certainly would hope would happen with John and, call upon Facebook to review this case in particular. John Sweeney helps a lot of people continue to enjoy Facebook every day and, these folks that may have reported his url always had the choice of just leaving the group getting the mailing or, just ignoring it.
Instead there seems to be a certain pettiness involved in this. Perhaps a happy edium would be to require a bit more substance from those reporting "offensive or spamy" content. Even in outr little MW community the average player will require more proof tahn what Facebook apparently received before attacking an alleged bully. Come on Facebook, you are better than that! You must have realized by now that there are some folk out there who will report items just for the sake of reporting them and exercising "power" to satisfy their extreme sensitivity to the right of others to speak out. I know our community and, I can tell you that that the great majority of players are sensible human beings who just want to enjoy the game. It is really not fair that a disgruntled individual(s) may make a report and cause a delay in support services to such a large portion of the FB world, just because they got one more message in-boxed to them. At any rate, I'll just let John say it in his own words on the piece below.

The Facebook & Zynga Blog BANNED From Facebook

It seems Facebook doesn't like my blog and has banned it from their site. The social site doesn't like us to voice our opinion or for that matter want use the users to do so either. They dont believe in FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
Well they do as long as you dont criticize them when doing so or you gone.As you all know who read this blog I offer you the most up to date info on Facebook & Mafia Wars, and yes sometimes I am very vocal about things. And they will not stop me from doing that EVER.

What abuse??? And if someone or some people did report it as abusive I would like to see if they have the guts to fess up to it.
I know from all my experience with dealing with Facebook over the years this is the canned message they give you when they dont like something. They blame the users of the site so they dont take the heat.
I am asking everyone to start a massive campaign to help get my blog restored to Facebook. I am going to every media outlet I can with this story. If you have media contacts feel free to contact them as well. I don't know what you guys are paying for gasoline.... but here in California we are paying up to $3.75 to $4.10 per gallon. My line of work is in petroleum for about 31 years now, so here are some tricks to get more of your money's worth for every gallon:
Here at the Kinder Morgan Pipeline where I work in San Jose , CA we deliver about 4 million gallons in a 24-hour period thru the pipeline.. One day is diesel the next day is jet fuel, and gasoline, regular and premium grades. We have 34-storage tanks here with a total capacity of 16,800,000 gallons.
TIPS ON PUMPING GAS
Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold.Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.
A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low mode, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL. The reason for this is the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.
Another reminder, if there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up; most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bot tom .
To have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do.
I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)...and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers !!!!!!! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!
