From the Editor...
Hi Gang!
Today we have a healthy mix of news and, bits from around the web that we hope you will enjoy. We are running a quick contest before Cuba sinks (no political pun intended) so you can make the most of the 5X mastery for as long as it lasts.
These coming weeks the Post will finally begin to evolve again. We are preparing a podcast and, I am finally going to have some extra time to devote to get our little publication more on track. Our numbers are good but, we can do better and, we have been very slow in getting some of our projects together.
So, I again extend an invitation to any budding journalist out there wishing to "make their bones" on a small but, upwardly mobile publication. If you have what it takes! (Please be advised that there is a one week probation

No, we didn't stutter. Mafia Wars: Cuba is going for good in less than a week, so clear out
everything you can from there now before it's all gone. According to Zynga, the game's storyline is headed in a new direction and its oldest locale will be the center of it all ... sort of. It's where a new global criminal organization will begin its conquest to become to world's largest drug trafficker, and no one will be safe come March 3.

News Corp's Asking Price, Zynga's Interest, And Other Insidery Dirt On The MySpace Sale
Pssst…here's what the movers and shakers are gossiping about the MySpace sale:
- Zynga and News Corp. DID have some preliminary talks. But, if Zynga was interested, News Corp. wouldn't mind taking back some Zynga stock. (We're not so sure Zynga would want to part with its stock, though.)

Customer Support is still updating their page so you may not get there for a bit. I was able to get a reprint of the details for the new gifting event called the Mafia Wars Underworld Showdown. From what I've read this sounds a lot like the Big Game Event and shouldn't be that difficult or time consuming....

While attempting to visit Customer Support, I got a notice that the site was being upgraded. I couldn't help but notice how out of place our Cuban General looks amongst all the other characters. I think he is sad that Cuba is being eliminated from the game and realizes that he should probably be removed from this page....

Last week, I posted about a new feature within the pop-ups themselves (1). Some players can now request to see them less frequently. It seems the number one complaint I got from players before going to Zynga was that there are too many pop-ups. This wasn't a newsflash to them and you can see they have already taken action. The players who are part of the Players Advisory Committee have been home a few days now and are starting to hear from the community. Many players want answers and want to see in game changes immediately if not sooner. I hope I can express that a committee is a group and represents a voice....

On Feb 7th, the ability to make special parts from the games FrontierVille and Cafe World was pulled. We were told that we could still build the loot items in our buildable properties if we had extras. Cerulean Master, Super Moderator, posted on the forums that sometime next week this would no longer be an option (1)....

This Daily Post/re training sounded great But to tell you the truth it is just about useless There seems to be nothing this Group can do to stop Mass /gang Robbing/Attacking Just happened to me AGAIN this time not as Bad Just 32 Robbers in a row within 1 Min we all know how this happens but nothing ever gets done about banning these gangs of social misfits Great Idea but powerless I have enjoyed reading some of the posts but I would like to find a Group that does more than just talks.. If you are on a robbing board there isn't anything we can do about that. But if someone is targeting you directly of course we will attempt to help with that the best that we can! Using every resource we have. So don't think we are here for nothing. We absolutely will help when ever we can!
