Hi Gang! 
Here we are again and, we hope you are all doing great. Zynga continues to tweak the game and mess things up. As you may have noticed , many accounts had loot re-veluated because apparently loot dropping from fight was too high. So, without much ceremony the big Z removed it's calculation of  what loot you had received by mistake. 

Then again a good deal of us got notices saying we had been give an extra couple of boosts to make up for the recent glitches. Personally, I would have rather just kept the points they had taken earlier.
At any rate, there is plenty in here to keep you busy for a few days so, read on and follow every link!

    • Mission Event: Get A Grip
      Your protected businesses are being targeted, your mafia members are being picked off, and your safehouse is under attack! The only way to get a grip on this situation is to set a trap with yourself as the bait! The situation is out of control. Get a grip on it to receive the Grip 950 Special handgun (153/64) and, if you're level 75+, early access to Brazil Secret District: Smuggler’s Haven!
      Secret District: Smuggler's Haven
      Early next week, if you are level 75 or above, you will be able to travel to Smuggler's Haven. This timed Secret District in Brazil contains 9 new jobs to complete before 4pm on 8/30. To get a head start on completing Smuggler's Haven, you can unlock it early by finishing Mission Event: Get A Grip!

    • You've been asking for it, and it's finally here! We've added the ability to collect from all of your properties in one easy location! We call it Union Hall, and it appears in the "Build Your Empire" section of the home screen:
      Build Your Empire
      Simply click a city's "Collect All" button to receive the cash and consumables ready for collection in that city! For Brazil, you also have the option of collecting your Real (cash), energy, and stamina separately. Just click the yellow arrows next to the "Collect All" button to cycle through the options:

      Coming Soon: Rob Squad Collection Bonus
      When you have a Rob Squad boost, pressing a city's "Collect All" button will use the boost to gain you bonus cash and consumables from that city. Don't have any Rob Squad boosts? You can ask for them every 8 hours directly from the new window!
      Super Shipments
      Click the large yellow arrows on either side of the "Build Your Empire" content you're currently viewing to flip to the other pages. The "Build Your Empire" page one click to the right of the Union Hall allows you to send and request Super Shipments, as well as build from and upgrade your NYC construction properties.
      Super Shipments & Parts
      Click the "Ask for all parts" button and, when someone clicks on the request posted on your wall, you'll receive 0-6 construction parts, up to one for each of the construction properties you can own (the Chop Shop, Weapons Depot, Armory, & Private Zoo in NYC, the Black Market in Brazil, and the Port in Italy), depending on if you've already collected a part for those properties within the last 12 hours. Super Shipments don't allow you to collect more construction parts; they just offer an easy way to collect, all at once, those that you have not yet received via individual feeds.
      We're excited to make managing your properties much more convenient! Try it out, then let us know what you think of the feature by completing this quick survey.

    MAFIA WARS FIGHTING – DA SCRAPPY CHIHUAHUA STYLE (Post #3) 

         In the last post I pointed out 4 big no-nos to avoid continuous beatdowns from one player stronger than you. Here are the reasons why options 2 & 3 should not be done.
    BULLY AVOIDANCE & PREVENTION
    Asking your mafia to attack him doesn't very often accomplish retribution. Your mafia's FB access to your bully's profile only lasts 1 hour. Most of the time he is already iced when they attack. So they may win the fight but he doesn't really suffer any loss. And once they leave the screen with his link they can't get to him any more. You get only a "moral" victory and if that's all you want then you're okay. But, as with hit listing, the bully will get an update that you asked, giving him a direct-access link to your profile.

  • In addition to the new collection called The Trap, Red and Blue Mystery Bags have gotten a "refresh". This means new items. The same old rare character building items, unneeded Construction Parts and crappy boosts haven't changed and we still will see those. They replaced the random loot items that were dropping with slightly better random loot items that won't help all players....

  • The Official Mafia Wars Blog has been updated. They threw in a post about Union Hall and ask that we take a survey. I reviewed Union Hall, here and here as well as point out some confusing aspects here. I did learn from their post that Rob Squad Boosts will soon be used to get bonus cash and consumables when you collect on your properties....

  • Zynga is trying to get back on our good side and they think they came up with the perfect plan. Their ingenious strategy involves stealing your war loot, nerfing your exp/energy ratios and then handing you 20 free 2X Mastery Boosts to make up for it all. You will see the peace offering the next time you go to Mafia Wars....

  • In light of the recent nerf, there is a new banner on the Home Page. Somehow a player/hacker got in the servers and added a special message to Zynga. This is another opportunity to use one of my favorite images that portrays how we feel about what Zynga is always doing to us....

  • There is a new Mystery Bag collection called It's A Trap which can be found under the Special Tab on the Collections Page from your Inventory. All items are giftable and will drop from Red and Blue Mystery Bags. The vaulting bonus is 20 Skill Points.  I'll post more details later but real life calls. Comments are moderated and won't appear right away....

  • You can't say we didn't see this one coming. Read the post below this one. I can't believe they did it so quickly. Here are the new exp/ratios for The Smuggler's Haven. Now lets review the severity of this nerf. This really sucks but it was an obvious mistake on their end....

  • There is much buzz going around about the too good to be true exp/energy ratios in the Secret Districts of Brazil. Since I've gotten to the Ruby Level, I've been able to serial level and I'm not alone. Players are very happy about this but many fear a nerf and/or a rollback....

  • I have verified that there is a common and reproducible bug with the Get A Grip Mission. You will most likely encounter it in in Part 7, Smuggler's Haven. You need to "Get Support From Your Mafia" 8 times. This sounds easy enough but many are finding no matter how many people help then, the counter does not move. No matter what I did, Mission Supports were not counting....

  • It's Friday and that means a new Collector's Edition loot item is on sale. This one is the Tiglon that we heard so much about on the last episode of Mafia Wars Live.  The first 2,000 sold out rather quickly but 5,000 more will be available at 9am PDT. Since Zynga can't leave anything alone, they threw in a twist....

  • Once you complete the Get A Grip Mission you will have access to a new Secret District called Smuggler's Haven. If you don't do the Mission it will unlock when the Mission timer runs out. To get to the Secret District Job Page, go to your Brazil Job Page and click on the "Secret Districts" button. Zynga explains the concept of the Secret Districts in the help mark.
