Editorial

Hi Gang, as you know, we have always had as guding principle, our commitment ot helping any and all of our fellow players and community members. We do so without the blessing of either Zynga or FB, we just do it.  We try very hard not to take sides and to speak from experience or research and, not from here-say or gossip. We are definitely not perfect so, do expect us to mess up every so often. But, we are honest, transparent and committed to you, our community. Please feel free to send in any questions, comments , suggestions, or announcements you would like to distribute through us. It is a free service and the only is condition is that you adhere to good manners and, be mindful that children play among us (yes, you can take that a couple of way and both would be right LOL!). We post to some 45 walls (about  some 7o thousand members) and direct message some 8 thousand recipients (for now any way,  since as you know our old pages are soon to be archived) so, your announcements are bound to get a couple of extra views :)
We also bring you a few new community items. First we welcome U.C. of Mafia Wars ~ Hosting Family {TUT},  Bully Busters and  Crimeseekersas permanent additions to this and our Justice Alley page. These great community groups have taken it upon themselves to offer their time and effort to help players with game play conflicts between players/groups  (U.C.),  Verified Bullies and bot abusers beware, Bully Busters are here to gather all of like and honorable minds to face and expose each one of you,... one by one one. And last but by no means least, CRIMESEEKERS will take lead on all the really important news of cyber crime, missing individuals and special real world alerts (also in association with our own Emergency Bulletin Board at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_218991648117798 ).

Empires & Allies Launches Strong Thanks to CityVille’s Influence

Zynga’s newest Facebook game, Empires & Allies, got off to a strong start in monthly and daily active users, landing at the top of our fastest-growing games by MAU within 10 days of launch. This is easily one of Zynga’s fastest-growing Facebook games to date.

Note: All figures in this analysis are collected from our social game traffic tracking service,AppData.
When Empires & Allies launched June first, Facebook experienced some reporting delays that obscured the very early launch picture. Even when traffic number reports came back online, the game appeared sluggish in growth for the first full week of June 2011, not quite breaking 1 million MAU. It wasn’t until the weekend of June 10 that the game took off, reaching its present-day levels of 9.6 million MAU and 6.9 million DAU as of June 11.

    • It's been 13 days since the new Fight Module started rolling out (1). Many players still don't have it and there is no official word from Zynga as to how long it will take. We have seen two blog posts on the Official Mafia Wars Blog informing us of performance updates (1), (2). I have noticed that since the first update, fighting does seem a little smoother. The latest blog post informs us that we can now...

    • When fighting manually, you end up seeing the Revenge popup a lot. Due to the frequency, it's super annoying. To make it even worse, it sticks and you can't get rid of it. When you close the X in the upper right corner, nothing happens. When you click on Attack or Back to Fight List, you can see the bottom of your fight page but you can't get to the attack buttons....
    • Yesterday, The Challenge Mission: Staten Island was removed from the Travel Bar and is no longer available. In previous Challenge Missions, old consumable gifts were converted to Mystery Bags. This is not the case for Staten Island. You can see I just accepted a Ferry Pass and unfortunately it's still a Ferry Pass....

    • It's no secret that many people have quit playing Mafia Wars. It may not directly affect your game but the impact on you is a growing list of Facebook friends who no longer play Mafia Wars. We all want a way to easily identify these people and remove them as friends....
